| Imperial Blue slate have been tested and fully comply
to BS 680: Part 2: 1971 clause 6.2. standard. (Test date 16/12/03.) |
| The Imperial Blue slates are 6 - 8 mm in thickness
and pre-holed. |
| The slates are from a very hard rock, and are also classed as a weathering slate. The slates are delivered in secure
wooden crates, with the amount and crate number printed on the crates. |
We can have up to 4% breakage in the crates due to
transport and shipping anything in excess of this amount will be replaced
free of charge. |

| Testing |
There are several international standards against
which
natural slate can be tested. |
In the UK, the standard for roofing slate is the
BS 680
Part 2: 1971. This standard requires that slate meets with the accepted
levels of three basic criteria - acid resistance, wetting and drying
cycles and water absorption. |
